About the Job
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Lead Design Specialist to join our Joseph Abboud team. This individual will report to the Design Director and assist with leading design through concept to production. Also, supporting the production team by providing patterns, samples, and tech packs.
What You’ll Do | Key Accountabilities
· Issue sample cutting tickets by gathering necessary model and fabric information, entering into coupon printing database, and distributing cutting tickets.
· Prepare incoming external patterns by importing patterns, checking notch types, creating sketches, and preparing marking templates for samples.
· Review tech packs and assign model numbers.
· Create new models as necessary.
· Digitize drafted patterns into Pattern Design System
What You’ll Bring | Skills & Experience
· Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, visual design, or equivalent experience.
· Functional knowledge of pattern making
· 2-4 years of Gerber Machine Experience preferred
· Bilingual (English and Portuguese) preferred
· Advanced Excel proficiency
· Strong understanding of distribution center workflows and retail fulfillment operations
· Experience supporting DC or warehouse environments preferred
· Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
· Strong organizational and prioritization abilities, along with keen attention to detail
· Ability to handle stressful situations and deadline pressures well
· Flexible and able to adapt to the changing needs of the business

Work Environment:
This job operates in an Office environment. This role routinely involves standard office equipment such as computers & keyboards, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.

The starting salary for this position is $50,000 – $65,000 and may increase to $81,000 depending on merit, length of service with the Company, and other factors. We take into consideration an individual’s skills, background, and experience in determining final salary. Base pay information is based on market location and may be subject to prevailing wage laws, if applicable.
