Duties
- Safely operate a box truck or personal vehicle to deliver mail and packages across assigned routes.
- Load and unload parcels using manual handling techniques, pallet jacks, or material handling equipment as needed.
- Follow prescribed routes meticulously, adhering to traffic regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards.
- Ensure accurate delivery by verifying recipient information and obtaining signatures when required.
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness and perform routine safety checks to ensure optimal operation.
- Use mobile devices or handheld scanners to track deliveries, update statuses, and communicate with dispatch.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing recipient inquiries professionally and courteously during deliveries.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in delivery driving, courier services, or warehouse operations is highly preferred.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience with commercial truck driving or box trucks is advantageous.
- Ability to handle heavy lifting safely while following proper lifting practices; familiarity with manual transmission vehicles is a plus.
- Knowledge of traffic laws, DOT regulations, and weight handling in the workplace ensures safe and compliant deliveries.
- Experience operating material handling equipment such as pallet jacks is beneficial.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage route schedules efficiently.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with customers and team members effectively.
