This is a full-time on-site role for an HBM Machinist at our location in Birmingham, AL. The HBM Machinist will be responsible for setting up and operating CNC Horizontal Boring Mills to produce parts according to specifications. Daily tasks include reading blueprints, programming CNC machines, ensuring quality control through inspections, and performing routine maintenance on machines. The machinist will work closely with the production team to meet deadlines and maintain a safe work environment.
- Experience in operating CNC Horizontal Boring Mills and other CNC machines
- Proficiency in reading blueprints and technical drawings
- Skills in machine setup, programming, and routine maintenance
- Knowledge of quality control processes and inspection techniques
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Previous experience in a precision CNC machine shop is a plus
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in machining or related field is a plus
