This position is responsible for assisting with the implantation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of safety programs across projects and operations. This role focuses on field engagement, compliance support, training coordination, and accurate safety documentation to help maintain a safe, compliant, and proactive work environment. The Safety Coordinator serves as a liaison between project teams and the EHS department to promote a strong safety culture and ensure policies are understood and followed.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Assist with the implementation of EHS policies and programs
  • Conduct jobsite safety inspections and observations
  • Support hazard identification and corrective actions
  • Assist with OSHA compliance and documentation
  • Maintain SDS, permits, JHAs, and safety records
  • Assist with incident and near-miss reporting
  • Support investigations and documentation
  • Track corrective actions to completion
  • Assist with new-hire safety orientation
  • Coordinate and track safety training
  • Support toolbox talks and EHS initiatives
  • Maintain training records in LMS or safety platforms
  • Work with Superintendents, Foremen, and Project Managers
  • Provide safety support on assigned projects
  • Encourage proactive safety reporting
  • Serve as a visible safety resource in the field
  • Maintain safety logs and records
  • Assist with data entry in safety systems (Smart Tag It, HCSS, Mindforge)
  • Support audits and inspections
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Strong technology skills
  • Strong use of Computers, iPads, Phones, etc.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills (Outlook, Calendar Invites, Scheduling Meetings)
  • Effective time management and problem-solving skills with a proven ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including public speaking and presentations.
  • Excellent understanding of industry practices, requirements, and standards (federal, state, city, and OSHA).
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and provide effective feedback.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish effective professional relationships with employees and project managers.
  • Able to travel on occasion and work additional hours to include weekends if needed.
Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1–3 years of construction safety experience, Civil and Building Construction.
  • OSHA 30 and safety related certifications preferred.
  • Basic OSHA knowledge
  • Proficient computer skills and experience with MS Office Suite applications (PowerPoint, Excel, etc.) and auditor safety software.
Physical Requirements:
  • Frequent walking on uneven surfaces, including ground in varying weather conditions.
  • Regularly sit, stand, or walk short distances for up to the entire duration of a shift/workday.
  • May stoop, kneel, or bend on an occasional basis.
  • May reach above shoulder heights and below the waist on a frequent basis.
  • Regularly climb stairs or ladders, etc.
  • Regularly works near heavy equipment and moving machinery.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Exposure to the outdoor environment with machinery/equipment in the surrounding area.
  • Able to wear personal protective equipment is required, including but not limited to steel-toe shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, hard hat, vest, etc.
  • Must be able to move, lift, pull, and push up to 50 pounds at times.

Salary : $48,772 - $72,272
