About us
Jordan Contractors is a small family owned business in Tecumseh, OK specializing in underground utility construction for commercial ventures and municipalities.
We are looking for an experienced individual to operate heavy haul and dump trucks daily for our projects. Starting pay for this position is $20.00 dependent on previous experience.
Work schedule is Mon-Thurs 10 hour days, occasional overtime. Home every night, work within a 100 mile radius.
Benefits: Bonus paid twice a year in June and December. Paid holidays. Paid Time Off policy. Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance offered with the company paying 1/2 of the premiums for the employee only. After one year of employment, the birthday policy is effective to either take the day of your birthday off with a full day of pay or work on your birthday and receive a cash bonus equal to 10 hours.
The final week of the year, the company is closed between Christmas and New Years. Every employee is compensated for these days of closure.
On rain days/severe weather days where no work can be performed, employees are compensated 10 hours for the day, guaranteeing a 40 hour work week.
Performance reviews are conducted twice a year, in November and May with a 3% pay raise for an annual raise of 6%.
DUTIES
Responsible for driving a tractor-trailer in compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations as well as company policies and procedures to transport various materials in a safe and timely manner.
Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Responsible for proper loading and securing of freight to prevent movement and allow safe transport. Assist in loading and unloading as required.
- Maintain accurate records and logs.
- Perform vehicle inspections and preventative maintenance before, during, and after trips; responsible for brake adjustments, tire chain-ups, and minor repairs as needed while on the road.
- Keep the interior and exterior of cab clean.
Other sample responsibilities
- Drives truck with capacity of more than 3 tons to transport and deliver cargo, materials, or damaged vehicle
- Maintains radio or telephone contact with base or supervisor to receive instructions or be dispatched to a new location
- Maintains truck logs according to state and federal regulations
- Keeps record of materials and products transported
- Position blocks and ties rope around items to secure cargo for transport
- Cleans, inspects, and services vehicle
- Operates equipment on vehicle to load, unload, or disperse cargo or materials
- Obtains customer signature or collects payment for goods delivered and delivery charges
- Assists in loading and unloading truck manually
Physical Requirements
This work is moderately active and requires the following physical activities:
- Frequent bending, squatting, kneeling, stooping, walking, sitting, finger dexterity, feeling, repetitive motions, talking, hearing, and visual acuity
- Driving to company locations and other sites as needed
