Summary
As a Customer Experience Specialist at the Joplin Family YMCA, you will be instrumental in enhancing the experience of our members and program participants. This role is vital in ensuring that our community feels welcomed and supported as they engage with our diverse offerings.
Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional customer service to all members and guests, addressing inquiries and concerns promptly.
- Assist with membership registrations and program sign-ups to ensure a smooth onboarding experience.
- Communicate effectively with members regarding programs, services, and schedules.
- Handle phone calls with professionalism and courtesy while maintaining accurate records.
- Support the sales team by promoting membership benefits and special programs.
- Collaborate with staff across departments to enhance member engagement and satisfaction.
- Maintain an organized office environment to facilitate efficient operations.
- Gather feedback from members to continuously improve the customer experience.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in customer service or support roles, preferably in a nonprofit or community-focused environment.
- Strong communication skills in English to interact effectively with diverse populations.
- Demonstrated ability to handle phone etiquette professionally and courteously.
- Familiarity with sales techniques is a plus for promoting memberships and programs.
- Basic office skills including computer proficiency for record-keeping and communication tasks.
- Experience with outbound calling is beneficial but not mandatory.

Pay: $14.00 - $15.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 25 per week
