Skilled Builders / Carpenters -- Crew Lead Builder & Builder Carpenter
We'll Train You Our Way. Premium Backyard Sheds, Studios, Offices, Workshops
Schedule: Monday – Friday (No Weekends!)
Tired of the same boring routine? At JONESES, every day brings a fresh, rewarding challenge. We don't just build sheds—we create premium, custom backyard structures like beautiful sheds, home offices, creative studios, and high-end workshops.
We are expanding our small, family-owned team and hiring for two specific positions. You will build from raw lumber to the final finished product, helping our customers "Keep up with a JONESES"—The Antidote to the Ugly Shed!
Position 1: Crew Lead / Builder ($22.00 – $28.00/hr DOE)
For the natural leader. We are looking for an experienced builder who has the strong ability—or the clear potential—to step up and run a site.
- The Role: If you have the confidence to manage a workflow, direct a team member, read shop drawings, and keep quality tight, we will give you the tools and authority to lead.
- Requirements: Solid carpentry or framing experience, a natural leadership mindset, and excellent client communication.
Position 2: Carpenter / Builder ($18.00 – $22.00/hr DOE)
For the driven builder. Whether you have basic skills or are looking to level up your career, we will train you our way.
- The Role: Work alongside the Crew Lead to learn the trade from base to roof.
- Requirements: High mechanical aptitude, basic tool knowledge, and a strong desire to learn.
How We Build (Your Weekly Routine)
You will never get stuck doing one repetitive task. Most builds are multiple days to complete. Our process splits your time between the shop and the field:
- Shop Days (Preparation): Pull materials, cut and build walls, build custom doors, build rafters, and load everything up to prepare for the field / jobsite.
- Field Days (The Build): Arrive on-site to install structural floors, stand the pre-built walls, sheet walls, set the rafters, apply siding, roof and finish off the structure.
- Finishing Touches: Siding ranges from T1-11, HardiePlank lap siding, B&B, Craftsman, Cedar and more. Custom accessories, and roofing.
- Wrap-up: Step back, take photos, and admire a high-quality job well done.
Why Join the JONESES Team?
- Great Schedule: Work hard Monday through Friday and keep your weekends for yourself.
- Strong Culture: Benefit from a tight-knit, supportive, small family business environment.
- Skill Advancement: Learn timeless residential construction tips and tricks often forgotten in modern building.
- Paid Time Off: Earn paid vacation days.
- Tool Support: Most tools are provided.
- Mileage Reimbursed: If you drive to the jobsite you will receive reimbursement.
Core Qualifications (Both Roles)
- Pride in Craft: A genuine desire to look at your work and say, "I built that right."
- Jobsite Cleanliness: Keep your workspace tidy as you build, leaving the site better than you found it at the end of every day.
- Professionalism: A positive attitude and sharp, friendly customer service skills.
- Driver's License: Must possess a valid Driver’s License and maintain a clean driving record and must have your own dependable way to get to work every day.
- Background Check: Must be able to successfully pass a background test.
