At Jones, Senior Account Executive serves as a strategic partner to both clients and internal teams. They lead with insight and passion, stay ahead of industry shifts and turn trends into actionable strategies that stick. With a strong grasp of understanding audience behavior, media dynamics and emerging platforms, they help shape creative and effective campaigns. This role requires someone who can see the big picture, confidently guide clients and keep teams aligned and energized around the work.
· Lead day-to-day execution for multiple clients and projects, ensuring deadlines, deliverables and budgets are met.
· Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, building trust, anticipating needs and offering proactive and sound counsel. Lead client meetings, brainstorming sessions and presentations with confidence and preparation.
· Provide direction to the account team support on project planning, media outreach, events and public affairs initiatives.
· Drive integrated campaigns across PR, digital, creative, community outreach and events.
· Support clients navigating policy-sensitive environments or regulatory landscapes, coordinating messaging across media, legal and government-facing teams.
· Develop and present strategic communications plans that align with client goals and evolving needs.
· Maintain strong client relationships by delivering insight, responsiveness and measurable results.
· Lead media relations efforts, including researching, pitching and securing local, regional and national placements.
· Translate data, trends and client insights into clear strategy and actionable plans.
· Initiate new ideas and opportunities to help clients stand out in crowded markets.
· Guide the development of formal and informal research projects to inform messaging and media strategy.
· Review client-facing materials and oversee timelines, budgets and reporting to ensure clarity, accuracy and professionalism.
· Ensure steady internal and external coordination through weekly touchpoints and quarterly reviews.
· Help clients feel valued by recognizing milestones and celebrating shared wins.
· Contribute to brainstorms, pitch development and meetings for prospective clients.
· Spot and recommend smart ways to expand client scopes based on needs, performance or market timing.
· Take the lead on outreach efforts tied to high-potential new business opportunities.
· Reports directly to the Vice Presidents.
· Serves as the team lead for 5–10 active accounts, managing workflow, assignments and deadlines.
· Mentors junior team members and helps drive a focused, accountable team culture.
· Takes initiative, communicates clearly and consistently follows through.
· Maintains accurate time tracking and project management documentation to support transparency and reporting.
· Demonstrates a strong sense of ownership and flexibility. Willing to step in outside typical hours during fast-moving or time-sensitive client moments.
· Contributes to a positive, solutions-driven team culture grounded in mutual respect even under pressure.
· Learns and uses agency tools and systems (e.g., project management platforms, time tracking and reporting tools) accurately and consistently.
· Supports high-stakes work with fast turnarounds and senior-level visibility. Confidence, precision and calm execution are key.
· Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Public Relations, Communications, Marketing or related field.
· 5 years of experience in public relations, marketing, or communications.
· Strong copywriting, copy editing and presentation skills.
· Proven experience leading client relationships and managing multi-channel campaigns.
· A track record of securing media coverage at all levels.
· Strong organizational and time management abilities.
· Background in budgeting, reporting and project planning.
· Team-oriented with a growth mindset, leadership and mentoring experience.
· Able to prioritize when everything feels urgent and keep things moving with focus and steadiness.
· Brings strong instincts but welcomes direction and feedback, especially when the stakes are high.
· Public speaking skills and professional presence.
· Creative thinking and a self-starter mentality.
