About the Role
We’re looking for a Vice President of Marketing to lead Jones Road’s next phase; both the brand and the business. This leader will oversee brand, go to market, creative, influencer, social (including TikTok Shop and social commerce), retail marketing, and marketing operations.
They’ll partner closely with Product Development, Retail, and Growth to drive cohesive, brand-led growth across every channel.
The ideal candidate is a brand-led marketing leader who is equally strong in storytelling and performance. They’ve helped scale a category-defining brand, know how to maintain a clear point of view as a company grows, and are tapped into the creator economy and social landscape. This role reports directly to our CEO and will help define the next phase of growth at Jones Road Beauty.
Key Responsibilities
Brand Strategy
- Oversee the brand vision, positioning, voice, and evolution as Jones Road scales into new categories, channels, and audiences.
- Define the brand operating system and guardrails the team executes against.
- Own consumer insights—reviews, surveys, and qualitative research—and translate insight into brand and campaign decisions.
- Own and improve brand-health metrics including branded search, direct traffic, organic social engagement, earned media value, creator-driven revenue, and brand sentiment.
Marketing Leadership
- Own the brand marketing budget with full P&L discipline and clear ROI accountability.
- Lead execution of the marketing calendar across product launches, evergreen campaigns, influencer moments, and key brand milestones.
- Build integrated campaign strategies across owned, earned, and creator channels.
- Partner cross-functionally with Growth, Product, Retail, and CX to align on goals, messaging, and deliverables.
- Provide strategic oversight and ensure channel-specific excellence of all brand marketing channels, including:
- Social Media: Platform strategy, content creation, community management, and social commerce (including TikTok Shop).
- Influencer & Creator Marketing: Organic seeding, paid partnerships, whitelisting, affiliate, and ambassador programs.
- PR & Communications: Media relations, founder and executive visibility, and thought leadership.
- Experiential & Events: Brand activations, pop-ups, retail moments, and industry events.
- Partnerships & Collabs: Strategic collaborations, co-marketing initiatives, and cultural partnerships.
Campaign, Creative & Cultural Moments
- Partner with the Creative Director to concept and execute 360 campaigns, brand moments, and cultural partnerships.
- Sustain and evolve hero franchises (Miracle Balm and beyond) through always-on storytelling and seasonal repositioning as the market shifts.
- Own marketing briefs and cross-functional kickoffs with Creative, Growth, and Product.
- Guide asset development and creative strategy across platforms and formats
Retail Marketing
- Drive brand-led growth and commercial outcomes across our retail footprint
- Lead activations and marketing programs that translate brand work into store traffic, conversion, and sales lift.
- Partner with retail leadership to ensure every retail touchpoint reflects the same brand POV as our digital and earned channels.
Team & Operations
- Manage and mentor team leads across Brand, Creative, Influencer, Social, and Marketing Ops.
- Oversee Marketing Ops as the project management function powering the calendar, driving clarity, accountability, and on-time delivery.
- Establish process and team structure to support scaling execution.
What You’ll Bring
- 10 years in marketing with at least 3 years in a senior leadership role at a brand-led consumer company.
- Track record of helping build a category-defining beauty or premium consumer brand—one consumers feel something about, with taste, point of view, and commercial rigor in equal measure.
- Experience scaling a brand across both DTC and retail channels.
- Strong background in campaign development, creative leadership, and go-to-market.
- Proven success in influencer and creator marketing, including fluency in social commerce and TikTok Shop.
- Comfort partnering with a Growth team and converting brand work into performance.
- Strong P&L and budget discipline; clear understanding of how brand decisions impact business metrics.
- Fluency with modern marketing tools and AI-driven workflows.
- Excellent cross-functional communication and team leadership skills.
- Experience managing complex calendars and high-volume execution.
The base range for this role is $215,000-$240,000. This is also a bonus eligible position.
