Job Description:
We are seeking a dependable and hardworking Service Technician to join our team. This position involves traveling to commercial hog, chicken, and turkey farms to diagnose and repair equipment issues. The ideal candidate will be experienced, reliable, and able to work efficiently in a farm environment around live animals.
Responsibilities:
- Repair and maintain farm equipment including water systems, feeders, ventilation systems, motors, computers, incinerators, and curtains
- Diagnose mechanical and operational issues on-site
- Work in environments with live animals
- Wear required PPE when working on farms, as needed
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and ensure all job sites are left in good condition
- Communicate professionally with farm owners and team members
- Operate company vehicles safely and responsibly
Requirements:
- Valid driver’s license with a good driving record (required to operate company vehicles)
- Prior experience working on a farm and familiarity with poultry or hog house equipment
- Ability to use hand and power tools effectively
- Strong work ethic and positive attitude
- Ability to lift heavy equipment and perform physically demanding tasks
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to work well with others
- Professional, respectful demeanor when interacting with customers
- Basic Tools Required
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with electrical, mechanical, or agricultural systems
- Troubleshooting experience with motors, ventilation, or automated systems
Work Environment:
- Work is performed on active farms with hogs, chickens, and turkeys
- PPE is required when working on farms
- Exposure to dust, noise, and varying temperatures
