Civil Litigation Paralegal Responsibilities:
- Assist attorneys with case preparation, from inception through trial and appeal.
- Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and correspondence.
- Manage case files, maintain calendars, and track deadlines.
- Assist in deposition, mediation, and trial preparation, including exhibit organization and witness coordination.
- Handle e-filing in both state and federal courts.
- Communicate with clients, court personnel, and opposing counsel as needed.
- Review and summarize medical records, depositions, and other case-related documents.
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical standards in all legal matters.
Civil Litigation Paralegal Requirements:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree; Paralegal Certificate preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of defense litigation experience in a law firm setting.
- Strong knowledge of litigation procedures and court rules.
- Proficiency in legal research tools (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage.
