Edger Operator
General Responsibilities
- Work safely - know, understand, and follow all safety rules
- Input sawn lumber through edger to cut prescribed board lengths
- Handle, sort, and stack lumber by dimension, species and grade
- Safely maintain flow of the product
- Utilize hand tools, i.e. broom, shovel, etc. to clean up sawmill debris
- Some greasing and basic maintenance
- Cross train in other positions

- Enthusiasm for being part of a team and working in a team oriented environment
- Self-motivated, resourceful, and willing to take initiative
- Ability to make decisions quickly utilizing hand eye hand foot coordination
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment
- Ability to learn how to get the most yield out of a board
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Ability to bend, stretch, twist, or reach with body, arms, and/or legs
- Ability to exert muscle force in repeated or continuous motion for long periods
