Responsibilities
- Conduct underground utility locating using specialized equipment and techniques
- Interpret blueprints, maps, and construction plans to identify utility lines and infrastructure
- Mark underground utilities clearly and accurately for excavation teams
- Operate field equipment such as backhoes, forklifts, and cabling tools as needed
- Assist with land surveying tasks to support project planning and safety measures
- Perform site inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations
- Maintain detailed records of locate activities and communicate findings effectively to project teams
- Support construction crews by providing precise utility location information before excavation or drilling
Experience
- Prior experience as a service technician or in utility locating is highly preferred
- Knowledge of land surveying practices and blueprint reading is advantageous
- Hands-on experience with construction site operations, including backhoe operation and forklift handling
- Familiarity with cabling installation and underground utility systems
- Field service experience on construction sites or similar environments is desirable
- Strong understanding of safety protocols related to underground utilities and excavation work
