Overview
We are seeking a proactive and skilled 2nd Shift Maintenance Worker to join our dynamic team. This role is vital in ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of our facilities and manufacturing equipment during the evening hours. As a key contributor, you will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting complex mechanical and electrical systems, and supporting facility upkeep to maintain a safe and efficient environment. Your expertise will help keep production running seamlessly while upholding safety standards and quality benchmarks.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on manufacturing equipment, facilities, and utilities using schematics, technical manuals, and CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) tools.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues utilizing tools such as ohmmeters, schematics, and your electrical experience to diagnose problems accurately.
- Conduct repairs including welding, electrical repairs, and residential painting to restore equipment functionality promptly.
- Operate programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to monitor and adjust automated systems for optimal performance.
- Maintain detailed maintenance logs, work orders, and incident reports in the CMMS system to ensure accurate recordkeeping.
- Support facilities maintenance activities including plumbing, HVAC systems, lighting, and general building upkeep.
- Supervise or assist with team tasks as needed, demonstrating leadership qualities and ensuring safety protocols are followed at all times.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in manufacturing or facilities maintenance with a strong mechanical knowledge base.
- Hands-on experience with electrical systems, schematics interpretation, and troubleshooting using tools like ohmmeters.
- Skilled in welding techniques with the ability to perform repairs safely and efficiently.
- Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and their programming or troubleshooting is highly desirable.
- Ability to read technical schematics, blueprints, and maintenance manuals clearly in English.
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience in a maintenance setting is a plus.
- Strong customer service mindset with excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively across teams.
