Terms of Employment: 210-day contract. State salary schedule plus local supplement

The position of Assistant Principal is designed to lead the planning and maintenance of an effective teaching and learning environment in the school. Responsibilities include leading the school's leadership and planning team and implementing and monitoring programs designed to meet the specific needs of the school.
Qualifications include the following but are not limited to:
Applicant must hold Georgia certification in Educational Leadership
Have an understanding of standards-based curriculum
Possess strong content knowledge in the areas of curriculum development, assessment and instructional supervision
Has the skills necessary to lead groups in self-assessing performance, brainstorming, problem solving, and planning for the process of improving student achievement
Skilled in data analysis
Skilled in working collaboratively and leading others to work as a team
Ability to visualize and implement change
Screens, selects, directs and evaluates performance of certificated and classified staff members
Relates to students with mutual respect while carrying out a positive and effective discipline policy
Motivates employee performance and enhances morale
Maintains a commitment to ongoing growth in self and others, supporting and participating in District and site professional growth programs
Possesses the knowledge to implement an employee evaluation system
Demonstrates positive attitude while continuing to be a flexible and innovative team builder
Has knowledge of local policies, state and federal laws relating to minors
Supervises and manages site operations to assure safety and efficiency
