Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, electrical systems, air brakes, and other key components using schematics and diagnostic tools.
- Conduct routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on construction machinery, excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors, trailers, and farm machinery to ensure optimal performance.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues using automotive diagnostics and mechanical knowledge to identify root causes quickly and accurately.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering irons, and fabrication techniques to repair or modify machinery as needed.
- Maintain detailed service records, complete repair reports, and update maintenance logs to ensure compliance with safety standards and OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) specifications.
- Assist with heavy lifting tasks and tire services to support equipment operation and safety protocols.
- Support equipment assembly, disassembly, and troubleshooting during repairs or upgrades to construction or industrial machinery.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a heavy diesel mechanic or service technician with dealership experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of diesel engine diagnostics, brake repair, suspension systems, electrical diagnostics, HVAC systems, and hydraulic troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with schematics for electrical systems and mechanical components across various types of heavy equipment.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and fabrication techniques.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while adhering to safety protocols.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to team members and clients.
- Certifications related to automotive repair or heavy equipment maintenance are advantageous but not mandatory.
