Description
The Quality Control Inspector is responsible for inspecting materials, in-process production, and finished furniture to ensure products meet Jonathan Louis International quality standards and customer requirements. This position identifies defects, documents inspection results, communicates quality concerns, and verifies that required rework or corrective action has been completed before products move forward in the production process.
Job Responsibilities:
- Inspect incoming materials, in-process production, and finished products to verify compliance with established specifications, quality standards, and customer requirements.
- Perform visual inspections, measurements, and other quality checks using established inspection methods and tools.
- Identify defects, non-conforming materials, workmanship issues, or product discrepancies and communicate findings to Quality and Production leadership.
- Place products on hold, return items for rework, and verify completed rework before approving products to continue through the production or shipping process.
- Disassemble or access product components when necessary to complete a thorough inspection.
- Document inspection results accurately through quality reports, logs, checklists, system entries, and other required records.
- Track and communicate recurring quality issues, rework trends, or significant defects that may require additional investigation or corrective action.
- Work collaboratively with Production, Upholstery, Assembly, Packaging, and other manufacturing teams to support product quality and timely resolution of quality concerns.
- Maintain inspection tools, work areas, and quality records in an organized manner.
- Follow all company safety requirements, quality procedures, and manufacturing standards.
- Maintain current knowledge of product specifications, inspection requirements, and quality expectations.
- Perform other related duties as assigned to support quality and manufacturing operations.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous manufacturing, furniture production, or quality control experience preferred.
- Previous experience as a Quality Control Inspector or in a similar quality-focused role preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality.
- Ability to identify, document, and clearly communicate quality issues.
- Basic mathematical and measurement skills.
- Strong reporting, recordkeeping, and documentation skills.
- Good hand-eye coordination and ability to perform detailed visual inspections.
- Ability to follow specifications, procedures, and work instructions accurately.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Bilingual English/Spanish required.
