Jokake Construction Services is looking for a Staff Accountant who is an enthusiastic partner who ignites positive solutions through passion for their work and assisting in the financial management of the company. Jokake’s goal is to be the complete real estate solution for our customers. The Staff Accountant assist in achieving this goal by playing a significant role in managing the payable, receivable, and financial subcontractor functions.
These skills along with knowledge of the related accounting fields and a client-focused approach, aid the Staff Accountant in being an instrumental part of operational and overall organizational success.
Staff Accountant’s Skillset & Experience:
Processing day-to-day transactions concerning payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger and other financial transactions utilizing appropriate accounting principles and software
Collecting all the pieces of the subcontract file for review
Running credit checks on subcontractor
Verifying contractor's license
Reviewing EMOD rating
Collecting safety/Hazcom programs
Collecting insurance certificates
Executing payroll, general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable functions
Reviewing, understanding, and analyzing subcontractor financials for prequalification
Evaluating subcontractor’s financial risk on projects
Identifying contract triggers that require the attention of the prequalification manager and project teams.
Recommending improvements, adaptations, or revisions in the accounting system and procedures.
Understanding and properly applying accounting rules and regulations across all types of transactions.
Reconciling and analyze general ledger accounts.
Maintaining payroll data
Maintaining the labor utilization report
Staff Accountant’s Technical Competencies:
Intermediate knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Understand Accounting fundamentals including but not limited to job costing modules, invoicing, billing, cash management and financial reporting.
Experience with Sage 300, Sage Paperless and Textura are a plus.

Education, Certifications & Trainings
- A degree in accounting with a minimum of 3 years' accounting experience related to accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger and financial transactions in accordance with GAAP.
- Experience in accounting within the construction industry or project accounting is a plus.
Jokake Provides
- A generous salary ranging from $65,000 - $75,000, depending on experience and skillset.
