What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Assistant position at JoiViva Primary Care?
We are seeking a medical assistant (Full Time, Part Time, or Per Diem) to join our team as we launch our new primary care practice. JoiViva is a mission-driven organization focused on equitable access to exceptional care. We are seeking team members who:

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Room patients, take vital signs, and reconcile records
- Master the health maintenance needs of patients at various ages and conditions and support patients per quality-defined protocols
- Prepare and clean exam rooms
- Perform injections
- Assist provider with procedures and medical exams
- Perform phlebotomy, point of care testing and report abnormal laboratory values
- Assist in transporting patients within the clinic as required
- Submit medication prior-authorizations
- Act as a liaison between patient, patient’s family and providers, including capturing visit documentation and communication of results
- Support clinic operations, including incoming calls and messages, scheduling appointments, and stocking of supplies
REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
- Completion of a Medical Assistant course accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) or other recognized regional or national accreditation board, OR equivalent
- Must be Washington State Medical Assistant-Certified or achieve this designation within 6-months of hire
- Valid American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider CPR card
