Position: Pension Associate (OPEIU L. 153)
FLSA: Non-Exempt
Weekly Rate of Pay: $974.04 base pay $80.68 (FICA Reimbursement)= $1,054.72

JOB DESCRIPTION
Under general supervision, the Pension Associate B will report to the Supervisor and work closely with various internal and external stakeholders and be responsible for various duties, including but not limited to the following:
- Open and sort mail.
- Handle and assist membership through customer service in-person and over the phone.
- Creates a detailed Participant work history, vested pension statements, and calculates monthly pension benefits.
- Help prepare Pension Committee meetings.
- Tracking disability pensioners' requirements, re-evaluations, and Early Retirement requirements.
- Assist in explaining NEBF & IBEW Pensions and all fund distributions (annuity, 401(k), etc.).
- Work closely with other departments.
- May perform other clerical duties and special projects as assigned.
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional legal office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as printers, scanners, desktop computers, phones, photocopiers, and fax.
Physical Demands
Sedentary work environment with physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This would require the ability to operate office equipment, phone, scanner, computer, lift small files/folders, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a Full-Time- Non-Exempt (OPEIU Local 153) onsite position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM-4:30 PM.
Flexibility: Must be able to work overtime when necessary.
Travel No travel is expected for this position.
Required Experience, Skills, and Qualifications
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is Preferred.
- Certified Notary Public Required.
- Must possess excellent telephone, verbal, and written communication skills to communicate with Local 3 members, internal departments, supervisor, and internal co-workers.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel; ability to do data entry into database applications (i.e., File Maker).
- Flexible and willing to adapt with the needs of the department.
- Ability to work professionally and cooperatively with others.
- Must be detail-oriented, organized, and able to meet certain goals and expectations.
- Must be able to follow procedures and maintain an overall acceptable attendance record.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and know how to prioritize workload in an organized manner.
