A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service:

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
Qualifications:
You may qualify at the GS-14, if you fulfill the following qualifications:A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service:
- Directing operations research specialists and leading long-range technical studies to provide evidence-based recommendations and facilitate data-driven decision-making for senior leadership;
- Evaluating force protection requirements and joint capability assessments through the expert application of JROC, FCB, and JCIDS processes;
- Orchestrating multi-organizational communication and executive-level briefings to effectively present conclusions, influence stakeholders, and defend complex analytical findings to key staff;
- Navigating the defense acquisition system and the Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE) process to develop and cost-justify integrated portfolio solutions within the Joint Staff organizational structure.

Responsibilities:
As a STRATEGIC ANALYST at the GS-0301-14 some of your typical work assignments may include:- Serves as a senior analyst and the focal point in the diverse areas within the division's protection portfolio.
- Directs support personnel and shares information about all past, on-going, and future projects, programs and analyses that pertain to asset protection.
- Serves as a recognized technical authority in force protection analyses.
- Plans, conducts, coordinates, and evaluates complex and long-range studies and develops technical analyses and recommendations.
- Participates in the Joint Requirements Oversight Council (JROC) and Functional Capabilities Board (FCB) processes and assessments.
- Establishes measures of effectiveness and success and develops analytic plans and decision methodologies for completing effectiveness assessments.
