Join Together Northern Nevada is a nonprofit substance misuse prevention coalition dedicated to building partnerships for a healthy community.
The Associate Prevention Specialists for Join Together Northern Nevada will coordinate the activities and projects of one or more grants or programs.
Essential Functions:
Deliver services and programming to the community.
Contribute to grant reports by providing high level written summaries and responses to activity reports.
Coordinate collaboration among staff, AmeriCorps members, and volunteers to complete projects.
Participate in meetings to complete spend down plans, grant management.
Contribute to data tracking and collection of information.
Coordinate and provide education and awareness training to small groups, individuals, and community members.
Support the delivery of information between and among the local partners, statewide partners, and state agencies; participating in email, phone calls and web meetings for assigned grants and projects.
Report verbally and in writing on assessment and program implementation.
Collect data and information on program and assist program delivery with resources and knowledge; including participating in quality improvement monitoring.
Provide information, knowledge and expertise to coworkers, community, and partners.
Participate with providing data and information to evaluators, state, federal government and local core team; utilizing data to ensure ongoing quality improvement.
Plan, coordinate, schedule, and conduct community events and activities associated with projects.
Support volunteers and AmeriCorps members in the delivery of programming.
Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned to support the effective operation of the organization and achievement of program goals
Complete required training for prevention specialist certification.
Ability to obtain Prevention Specialist certification within required timeline.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High level of knowledge and expertise in project coordination.
Ability to learn, interpret, explain, and apply principles of program projects
Ability to plan, implement, and evaluate the achievement of goals, objectives and work plans.
Ability to use initiative and independent judgment within established guidelines.
Ability to supervise projects and coordinate collaboration among staff, volunteers, and partners.
Knowledge of modern office methods, practices, procedures, computer equipment and common office software.
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
Possession of current Nevada Driver’s License; ability and willingness to travel in/out of state; including by plane.
Ability to pass a background check including drug / alcohol screening; appropriate to position requirements.
Ability to maintain physical condition appropriate to the performance of assigned duties and responsibilities including the following -Walking, standing, or sitting for extended periods of time; operating assigned equipment
Ability to utilize effective auditory and visual skills and have the perception needed for -Making observations; communicating with others; reading and writing; and operating assigned equipment.
Ability to facilitate training and curriculum to students and community members.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment by collaborating with others, maintaining professional working relationships, communicating respectfully, and contributing to shared goals.
Ability to educate and instruct adults and youth by delivering presentations, fostering an engaging learning environment and encouraging active participation.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Prefer Bachelor’s degree. Experience working on program delivery. Experience coordinating projects. Experience managing projects and people; and creating collaborations.
