Survey Project Technician

About the Opportunity

T. Baker Smith is seeking motivated and detail-oriented Project Technicians with experience in surveying, drafting, and mapping to join our growing team in Aransas Pass, TX.

This is an excellent opportunity to work alongside experienced Professional Surveyors and technical professionals, contribute to a variety of surveying and mapping projects, and develop your technical skills in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare project deliverables, technical drawings, and supporting documentation.
• Calculate, analyze, organize, coordinate, and research project information.
• Collaborate with Professional Surveyors and project teams to prepare and review drawings, project specifications, and technical details.
• Support a variety of surveying and mapping projects from initial planning through completion.
• Provide technical assistance to project teams to help ensure accuracy, quality, and timely project delivery.
• Assist with project coordination and help maintain established project schedules.
• Support other project teams and departments with technical, field, or related duties as needed.

Desired Qualifications and Skills

• Associate degree in Drafting and Design or a bachelor's degree in Geomatics preferred.
• Demonstrated experience in surveying and mapping.
• Proficiency in relevant software, including AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Map32, and ArcGIS Pro.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate work.
• Self-motivated, dependable, and able to work independently as well as collaboratively.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
• Strong communication skills and a willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
