Lead and coordinate the cafeteria team to ensure efficient food service operations. Guide team members in performing their duties related to food preparation, service, and maintaining cleanliness standards.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the cafeteria team in daily operations.
- Assign tasks and responsibilities to team members based on operational need.s
- Provide coaching and mentoring to improve team performance
- Create staff schedules and monitor attendance
- Assist in the onboarding and training of new team members
- Facilitate team meetings to discuss service improvements and address concerns
- Coordinate food preparation and ensure timely service
- Monitor food quality, portion control, and presentation standards
- Implement strategies for efficient utilization of leftovers
- Help maintain appropriate inventory levels and initiate orders as needed
- Verify deliveries and reconcile orders
- Track costs and revenues to assist with budget adherence
- Source specialty items as needed for special events or to address shortages
- Prepare requisitions for supplies and equipment
- Create and update daily menu boards
- Ensure cafeteria cleanliness and attractive presentation
- Coordinate maintenance services and equipment repairs
- Stay informed of food service trends and best practices through professional development
- Ensure compliance with health department standards and food safety regulations
- Lead team in planning and executing special events and catering services
- Recommend improvements to service, equipment, and supplies
- Solicit and respond to customer feedback
- Implement service enhancements to improve customer satisfaction
- Perform other duties as assigned, requiring comparable skills
- Accompany health department inspectors during facility inspections
- Provide input for budget planning
- Maintain professional relationships with all employees and customers
Minimum Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of cafeteria or food service experience
- 1-2 years in a supervisory or lead role preferred
- Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Team leadership and conflict resolution abilities
- Good motor skills for food preparation and equipment operation
- Basic computer skills for inventory and record-keeping
- Basic math skills
- Good vision required to assist with food preparation

- All equipment and facilities associated with cafeteria operations, including food preparation equipment, POS systems, and standard office equipment
