Mark Thomas is hiring a Sanitary Engineering Intern to join the team! The role of a Sanitary Engineering Intern is to district assist engineering and technical staff with entry-level tasks. These tasks may include contributing to the preparation of plans, drawings, exhibits, reports, and permits, as well as, performing design calculations, hydraulic analyses aspects of modeling, and estimates. Work activities may also include routine field tasks. These efforts are completed under the

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Assists with the preparation of plans, drawings, exhibits, reports, and permits, as well as, performing design calculations, hydraulic analyses aspects of modeling, and estimates under direct supervision
• Studies and utilizes ArcGIS, work order, and asset management software
• Provides QA/QC support by following the appropriate procedures as outlined in the Mark Thomas QC manual or as instructed by an experienced engineer
• Participates in field activities and project site visits to take measurements, collect data, takes photos or documents activities/observations
• Provides support in the physical delivery of project materials to our clients and colleagues
• Provides support in the reproduction of project materials such as exhibits, plan sheets, spreadsheets, drawings & details, etc.
• Conveys technical information utilizing clear verbal and written skills
• Meets deadlines as determined by supervisor
• Participates in training activities and actively seek opportunities to contribute to the achievement of Mark Thomas goals
QUALIFICATIONS
• Enrolled in a relevant field of study leading to a four-year degree in civil/environmental/sanitary engineering
• EIT certification preferred, but not required
• Prior relevant work experience is a big plus
• Familiar with MS Office, Auto CAD, ArcGIS, etc. experience preferred
• Ability to work on multiple tasks
• Demonstrates effective written and verbal skills
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time to maximize efficiency
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with a variety of unique and diverse people and personalities
• Possesses a willingness to learn

The offered rate of compensation (California locations only) will be based on individual education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities in addition to internal equity and geographic location.
