A DAY IN THE LIFE AS A DELIVERY DRIVER
Whether picking up or dropping off, you are a hero that transports our clients' valued items in a timely manner along your designated route. You also check-in with our clients on their experience with our service and assist them with 'will call' pickups. With attention-to-detail, you load or unload the company-provided cargo van taking care to respect our clients' items. You ensure delivery to the correct destination and receive UPS or miscellaneous orders, all while positively representing Johnstone Supply at each stop. You are conscientious about keeping all necessary paperwork up-to-date. And, you are a competent and dependable driver who navigates the roads with the utmost concern to those around you. You also operate a forklift, hand truck, manual pallet jack, and other equipment, truly taking the safety of others and yourself seriously. You ensure that the warehouse is kept clean and safety codes are followed. At the end of each shift, you feel accomplished and satisfied that you can provide a courteous delivery to the customers we serve.
DELIVERY DRIVER QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Able to pass a DOT medical exam
- Possess a valid DOT Medical Certification Card
- Physical strength and stamina to repeatedly lift, carry, move, and set down up to 75 lbs
- Computer skills and basic map-reading ability
- Prior truck driving/delivery driver experience
