HVAC Training Instructor (Part-Time)

Position Overview: Johnstone Supply – The Huestis Meyers Group is seeking knowledgeable and passionate Part-Time Continuing Education Instructors to teach HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) courses. This is a unique opportunity for seasoned professionals or former instructors to pass on their expertise to the next generation of HVAC technicians. Courses are offered both during standard business hours and evenings to accommodate various learner schedules.

Key Responsibilities:

· Develop and deliver engaging, practical HVAC instructional content.

· Present course materials clearly and effectively to adult learners.

· Create an inclusive, hands-on learning environment to encourage student participation and success.

· Use diverse teaching strategies to meet varied learning styles.

· Evaluate student learning through tests, projects, or other assessments.

· Provide constructive, timely feedback and support.

· Maintain accurate records of attendance and student performance.

· Stay up-to-date with industry standards and technologies through ongoing professional development.

Qualifications:

· Extensive experience in the HVAC industry (required).

· Prior teaching or training experience (especially with adult learners) strongly preferred.

· Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.

· Ability to foster a positive, engaging, and adaptable learning environment.

· Comfort with modern instructional tools and technology.

Additional Information:

· Schedule: Part-time; classes are held during the day and evenings (flexible scheduling available).

· Location: Crestwood, IL, Joliet, IL and Hammond, IN.

· Compensation: Competitive hourly rate; based on experience and class type. $50 to $150 per hour.

This will be a 1099 position. No benefits will be offered.
