What are the responsibilities and job description for the MTSS Coordinator position at Johnston Public Schools?
A Multi-Tiered System of Supports Coordinator is an individual who supports schools in building the internal capacity within the district/building to implement and sustain MTSS practices. The Coordinator works with MTSS/Tier 1, 2, 3 facilitators and advanced learning specialists in buildings and their leadership teams through the provision of professional development, technical assistance, and coaching.
Essential Job Functions: The MTSS Coordinator will:
• Continue to monitor and refine district-wide MTSS practices to ensure alignment with best practice, student need, state law, and federal requirements.
• Train and support school based facilitators and other school personnel to develop, implement, evaluate and sustain MTSS practices by providing evidence based professional development, technical assistance, and coaching strategies.
• Meet with District and/or School Leadership Teams to assess needs and identify goals for MTSS implementation.
• Assist in the development of an MTSS system of support framework for grades 6-12.
• Align professional learning, technical assistance, and coaching to participating district/schools’
