The following is a list of duties that are representative of the position and include but are not limited to:
Essential Duties:
•Perform a variety of semi-skilled repair and maintenance duties relating to grounds, facilities, and buildings;
•Install and repair chain link fences, basketball and baseball backstops, playground equipment, physical education equipment, bleachers, road guards, storm drain covers, and metal storm drains;
•Perform some welding work by use of arc and gas welding equipment in the repair of equipment, furniture, or fixtures;
•Install and repair block, brick, and concrete retaining walls;
•Install and repair concrete slabs, sidewalks, and storm gutters, including building forms, pouring, and finishing concrete;
•Repair stucco walls and plastering;
•Repair leaking roofs by use of sweepers, roof tar, or roof paper;
•Make emergency repairs and adjustments to plumbing equipment including pipes, washers, gaskets, faucets, floats and valves, toilets, sinks, water heaters, and boilers;
•Make emergency electrical repairs to equipment and buildings that are allowed without an electrical license;
•Store and safely use hazardous materials;
•Move office furniture and classroom equipment as requested; and
•Install and repair steel wall lockers at school sites.
Other Related Duties:
•Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor that are related to the job description;
•Participate in available training to meet new safety and/or technology standards; and
•Attend meetings related to assignment
