JOB SUMMARY: Under the direction of a licensed teacher and/or administrator, the General Education Behavior Technician provides proactive and responsive support for general education student behaviors throughout the school day. This role assists with lunch and recess supervision, serves as a first responder to behavior concerns across school environments, supports small group behavior reteaching, and assists in the implementation of school-wide behavior expectations and systems.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of two years’ experience working with PK-12 students in behavior support or related roles
- Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification or willingness to obtain within 60 days
- Paraeducator certification preferred
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborates with teachers and administrators to develop classroom behavior management plans and social, emotional, behavioral, and mental health supports in the classroom
- Serves as a first responder to behavior concerns and assists with de-escalating student behaviors and reintegration into learning environments
- Supervises students during lunch and recess, providing proactive and immediate support for behavior needs
- Teaches and reteaches expected behaviors to individuals and small groups aligned with school-wide expectations
- Responds to calls from classrooms for behavior support needs
- Assists students with regulation and break opportunities
- Assists with the implementation of Multi Tiered System of Supports for behavior in general education
- Supports staff in addressing and reinforcing positive behaviors in various school settings
- Documents and processes behavior referrals and maintains accurate records and reports
- Participates in meetings related to student behavior supports
- Maintains working knowledge and use of available technology
- Demonstrates punctual and regular attendance
- Completes all required training
OTHER FUNCTIONS
- Engages in professional development related to functions and responsibilities
- Assists with data collection on behavior trends
- Participates in meetings to support school-wide behavior goals
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Work Hours: 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Monday - Friday
