Role Description The Activities Administrative Assistant is a full-time, on-site role located in Johnston, IA, supporting the activities department within the district. This position is responsible for managing daily administrative tasks such as maintaining schedules and calendars for student activities, coordinating facility use, and preparing documents, forms, and reports. The role includes answering phones, responding to inquiries from families, students, staff, and community members, and providing courteous front-line support. The Activities Administrative Assistant assists with event logistics, including registrations, rosters, transportation requests, and communication of event details. Additional duties include maintaining accurate records, processing basic financial or purchasing paperwork, collaborating with coaches and activity sponsors, and ensuring that information is organized and accessible to support smooth operations.
Qualifications
- Strong Administrative Assistance and Clerical Skills to manage schedules, records, documents, and day-to-day office operations.
- Professional Phone Etiquette and Communication skills for interacting effectively with students, families, staff, and community members.
- Experience or aptitude in Executive Administrative Assistance to support leadership, coordinate meetings, and handle confidential information responsibly.
- Proficiency with office software (e.g., email, word processing, spreadsheets, database systems) and ability to learn district-specific systems.
