Essential Job Functions
- Tutors students on specific course content, course-related readings and course-related written assignments
- Tutors students in the area of academic success skills (e.g. learning strategies, time management, etc.)
- Coordinates tutoring goals with advisers, academic counselors and faculty to effectively meet student needs
- Attends tutor training sessions and staff meetings, as applicable
- Administers individualized tests to students with accommodations
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in mathematics or a related field of study (e.g., statistics, economics, engineering, or other sciences requiring math proficiency)
- Ability to tutor subjects such as, but not limited to, freshman algebra, math for liberal arts majors, precalculus and statistics
- Ability to work daytime hours on weekdays and work on occasional weekends for special events
- Experience tutoring or teaching students
- Proficiency in statistics
