Job Description:
The Educational Representative manages an assigned territory of school music programs, serving as the primary relationship manager for educators while coordinating rental services, operational support, and business development throughout the territory. This role combines outside sales, customer service, and operational support to strengthen partnerships with educators while supporting Johnson String Instrument's rental program. The Educational Representative is responsible for developing new relationships, maintaining existing school accounts, coordinating rental events, and ensuring a high level of service for schools, students, and families. This position requires regular travel to schools and rental events and requires the employee to operate company vehicles as part of the role.
Key Responsibilities:
Territory Development and School Partnerships
- Provide rental services and ongoing support to an assigned territory of school music programs.
- Maintain and develop a regular school visit schedule for rental service, educator meetings, and customer support.
- Develop and strengthen relationships with music educators, administrators, and prospective school partners.
- Expand the company's presence by identifying and developing new school relationships.
Rental Program Operations
- Organize and participate in rental events, including scheduling, staffing, and estimating event needs.
- Process rental instrument transactions, institutional sales, and repair requests.
- Assist with instrument recruiting and sizing for violin, viola, cello, and double bass rentals.
- Maintain accurate documentation and follow established operational procedures.
- Coordinate instrument exchanges, repairs, and replacement needs for assigned schools.
- Ensure timely follow up on rental, repair, and institutional requests.
- Maintain accurate customer and school records within company systems.
General Operations and Team Support
- Collaborate with School Services Team colleagues, Rental Workshop, Fulfillment, and Retail teams to support customer needs.
- Communicate proactively regarding territory activity, customer concerns, and operational issues.
- Plan and prioritize daily and seasonal activities to effectively support assigned schools and meet departmental objectives.
- Participate in training and continuous process improvement initiatives.
- Seasonal overtime is required, particularly during the Back to School season.
- Occasional overnight travel may be required.
- Perform additional tasks or responsibilities as needed to support departmental and organizational needs.

- Stand, walk, lift, bend, and carry instruments throughout the workday.
- Load and unload company vehicles for school visits and rental events.
- Work both independently and collaboratively with customers and internal departments.
This is a full-time, hourly, non-exempt position and is eligible for overtime in accordance with applicable wage and hour laws. Seasonal overtime is required, particularly during the Back-to-School season.

Pay: $21.00 - $26.00 per hour
