What are the responsibilities and job description for the Associate Attorney position at Johnson Schachter & Lewis APLC?
We are seeking an Associate Attorney to become a part of our team!
We are a small AV-rated civil defense litigation firm that has specialized in the representation of public and private entities, self-insureds, insurance carriers, and JPAs for more than 40 years. Our practice areas include employment claims, public entity and education, personal injury and premises liability, products liability, professional errors and omissions, and disability access & discrimination. We also represent educational institutions as general counsel, and JPAs as general and coverage counsel.
Due to the size of our firm, we offer the opportunity to participate in litigation from the outset, while maintaining a strong work/life balance. As an Associate Attorney in our firm, you will have the opportunity to participate in all aspects of litigation, including:
- handling of administrative complaints;
- case analysis and litigation tactics;
- research and handling of unique and complex legal issues;
- drafting and responding to written discovery;
- taking and defending depositions;
- writing and arguing significant law and motion, including dispositive motions;
- participating in mediations and arbitrations; and
- trial preparation.
We are looking for someone with outstanding research and writing skills and a high academic record, with 1-4 years of comparable experience.
