JMT’s Allentown based Construction Management Team is seeking Transportation Construction Inspection professionals to join our team. We have multiple positions available on projects within PennDOT's District 5-0 region (Lehigh, Carbon, Monroe, Berks, and Schuylkill Counties).
The successful candidate will apply standard inspection procedures to ongoing activities during and after construction for structural quality, general safety, conformance to plans, specifications and codes. This position is not eligible for employer-based sponsorship with the exception of the TN visa classification.

Work is performed in the field. Ability to extensively perform bending, kneeling, standing, shoveling, and lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 25 lbs as needed. Work may be conducted outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions.

Essential Functions And Responsibilities
- Review and interpret plans, site layouts, specifications and construction methods to ensure compliance to legal requirements and safety regulations
- Perform routine tests on concreate, soils and other materials
- Measure dimensions and verify level, alignment, and elevation of structures, fixtures, grades and/or pavement to ensure compliance to plans and codes.
- Gather and maintain record documents
- Make field notes and computations
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- Computer Proficiency
- Active driver’s license and reliable motor vehicle
- Must successfully complete and pass JMT's Motor Vehicle screening
- Client Requested certifications, including: NICET Level II or higher in Transportation/Highway Construction
- NECEPT-Bituminous and Concrete Field Technician
- ACI Concrete Field-Testing Technician
- CDS V-3 and/or ECMS Wave 5 Experience
- At a minimum, the candidate must meet the PennDOT Transportation Construction Inspector Level II criteria. High school diploma or equivalent (may be substituted for experience)
- 2 or more years of highway or bridge construction inspection experience
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or construction management
- Previous PennDOT and/or PA Turnpike Inspection Experience
