Position Summary: Responsible for preparing plans from the provided engineering sketches and details for projects.

Immigration sponsorship or support (e.g. H1B, F-1 CPT/OPT/STEM OPT) is not available for this position, except for qualified candidates eligible for the TN visa classification.

Compensation for this position is $25.00 - $45.00/hourly, commensurate with experience, education and certifications. The provided range is a good faith estimate based on the requirements described within the job description. We notice that we receive a wide variety of applicants and recognize that the person selected may be less experienced or more experienced. If so, the actual salary range may vary from the estimate provided.

Essential Functions And Responsibilities

• Transfer engineering sketches and details to plans utilizing AutoCAD or Microstation
• Makes basic engineering computations and prepares and revises specifications.
• Make quality control corrections to contract drawings
• Prepare exhibits for reports, public meetings or presentations

• Perform other related duties as assigned
  
  

Required Skills

• Must successfully complete and pass JMT's Motor Vehicle screening
• Valid Driver’s License
• Able to pass Background Check
  
  

Required Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Proficient in AutoCAD and/or Microstation
• Knowledge of design and drafting procedures
  
  

Preferred Experience

• Technical school training with courses in computer-aided drafting
• Experience in preparing plans related to Transportation projects
  
  

Working Conditions

Work is performed within a general office environment. Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require occasional standing and walking. Lighting and temperature are adequate and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. within the office environment.
