What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Mechanical Project Manager position at Johnson & Jordan, Inc.?
- Assist the Foreman and Project Manager with the overall plan for construction of the project.
- Manage the submittal request, log and ensure all submittals are processed promptly.
- Draft, submit and track all FRI’s and distribute to all team members as appropriate.
- Assist in the development of cost estimates of assigned projects.
- Solicit and obtain bids from subs and suppliers.
- With the foreman, monitor and expedite the delivery of materials
- Assist the foreman to ensure that the project is constructed in accordance with the contract requirements, and the specs and with the required quality.
- Assist the PM in the development of the monthly job status report and participate in the preparation of the invoicing.
- Assist in the preparation of change proposals, change order reviews, issues change order to subcontractors.
- Document potential schedule delays and promptly notify PM.
- Maintain good relationships with the owner, architect, engineers, subcontractors, municipal authorities (AHJ) and company personnel involved with the project.
- Actively participate and/or lead post-bid, buy out, coordination, lead team, subcontractor scheduling and other meetings.
- Prepare meeting minutes as directed by PM. Use the Meeting Notes in teams for each job for each weekly meeting.
- Assist with preparing the job start-up and close-out checklists.
