Position Overview
The primary focus of this position is to provide financial planning and business decision support, including ad-hoc analysis, across the JHTR business segments, which include the Horizon Fitness, Bowflex/Schwinn and JRNY, E Commerce and Retail / Mass Merchant channel as well as for the Johnson Fitness & Wellness retail stores (JFW), Independent Dealers, Commercial, and JFW E Commerce sales channels Am additional focus is providing financial reporting and analysis to internal and external customers. This is a supervisory position.
Responsibilities
Management:
• Responsible for training, and development of supporting Finance Analysis team member(s)
• Conduct monthly check in’s with direct reports for performance management and coaching
• Drive team to succeed in reaching productivity and quality goals to meet/exceed customer need
Budgeting, planning, and forecasting:
• Manages the development of the annual budget and operating plan, including identification of key performance drivers and development of metrics to monitor and track performance
• Experience with rolling 12-month forecasts and utilization of modeling capabilities with Adaptive Insights
• Maintains monthly, quarterly, and rolling 12-month forecast for Sales, P&L, working capital, and cash flow
• Maintenance of Adaptive Insights reporting tool and related reporting
Reporting:
• Develops and issues financial and operational reporting packages, including support for monthly reporting, Quarterly Business Reviews, ad-hoc analyses as required, including analysis of monthly results
• Provides analytical narratives and responses to parent company
• Maintain other financial reports as needed
Analysis:
• Conducts business analysis to identify financial and business trends
• Develop and implement recommendations to improve business and financial performance
• Active team member on multiple business improvement projects
• Develop procedures to improve financial practices while establishing consistency in practices
• Provide on-going support for business’ financial analysis needs
• Facilitate business and financial improvement within organization
• Performs margin analysis as necessary
Accounting:
• Responsible for standardizing the forecasting, analytical, and business processes JHTR sales channels
• Supports month end close process as necessary
• Facilitate financial improvement processes
• Understands standard cost development and cost accounting concepts
• Assists with the annual Audit and Quarterly Review Processes as necessary
Other projects as assigned
Requirements
Education:
• Minimum 4-year degree in Accounting or Finance
• Additional education, such as MBA or CPA, preferred
Experience:
• Minimum 7 years of prior financial analysis experience forecasting, modeling, and analysis across different sales channels is required, with retail experience required.
• SAP experiences desired
• Experience with Adaptive Insights, or comparable reporting software, required
• Minimum of 4 years in a supervisory role required
• CPA or relevant accounting experience preferred
Other Requirements:
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including PowerPivot, pivot tables, Vlookup, VBA, Macros, etc.)
• Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal, able to clearly communicate financial information in an easy-to-understand manner at multiple levels and functions within the business
• Strong system skills – experience with SAP (FI, MM & SD modules), BW, Adaptive Insights, Office Connect, Access
• Excellent analytical skills to understand business drivers that link operational performance to financial results
• Strong business acumen developed by willingness to immerse oneself in the business
• Strong problem solving and investigative skills, developing variance explanations, root cause analysis and developing potential solutions
• Effective presentation skills
• Excellent organizational and prioritization skills
• Strong understanding of financial, management and cost accounting
