Retail Management:
We are seeking a dynamic and creative Retail Manager / Interior Designer to join our team at Palmetto Upholstery, a premier upholstery store that specializes in high-quality, custom furniture and home décor. This unique hybrid role combines the responsibilities of managing retail operations with the expertise of designing tailored interior solutions for our clients. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in retail management and interior design, with a passion for customer service, design innovation, and an eye for detail.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily operations of the store, ensuring a high standard of customer service, visual merchandising, and inventory control.
- Supervise, train, and motivate a team of retail staff to meet and exceed sales goals.
- Develop and implement sales strategies, promotions, and events to drive foot traffic and sales.
- Monitor and maintain store inventory, including ordering and restocking merchandise.
- Manage store budget, financials, and sales reporting.
- Ensure the store environment is clean, organized, and welcoming for customers.
- Handle customer inquiries, resolve complaints, and provide exceptional customer service to build long-lasting relationships
Interior Design Responsibilities:
- Work with customers to design custom upholstery solutions that align with their style, needs, and budget.
- Provide expert design advice on color schemes, fabric choices, furniture layouts, and overall aesthetic to enhance the customer’s living space.
- Create mood boards, design mockups, and visual presentations to help customers visualize design concepts.
- Collaborate with the production team to ensure designs are accurately executed and meet quality standards.
- Stay up-to-date with interior design trends, fabric innovations, and upholstery techniques to offer the latest design options.
- Assist in coordinating installations and managing timelines for custom orders.
Customer Relationship Management:
- Build strong relationships with customers, understanding their unique preferences and providing personalized design recommendations.
- Follow up with customers post-purchase to ensure satisfaction and promote repeat business.
- Handle inquiries and concerns related to design, product quality, and customer service promptly.
Store Aesthetics and Visual Merchandising:
- Collaborate on visual merchandising strategies to create visually appealing displays that showcase upholstery products and design services.
- Ensure the store’s design aligns with the brand’s image and inspires customers with fresh, innovative displays.
Team Leadership:
- Lead by example, demonstrating exceptional work ethic, creativity, and customer-focused approach.
- Foster a positive, collaborative work environment.
- Provide ongoing training and development opportunities for staff in both sales and design.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Retail Manager, Store Manager, or similar leadership role in a retail setting, preferably within home décor, furniture, or interior design.
- Formal education in Interior Design or a related field is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of upholstery, fabrics, and furniture design.
- Exceptional design skills, with the ability to create visually compelling and functional spaces.
- Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
