We are seeking a dedicated and patient-focused Optometrist for a full-time, on-site role at our Roanoke, VA location. The Optometrist will perform comprehensive eye exams, diagnose and manage eye disorders, prescribe corrective lenses, and provide preventative eye care education. Additional responsibilities include collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care and maintaining accurate and meticulous patient records.
- Proficiency in conducting comprehensive eye exams, diagnosing eye conditions, and providing treatment plans
- Competence in prescribing eyeglasses, contact lenses, and treating refractive errors, including astigmatism and presbyopia
- Familiarity with diseases affecting the eyes such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, and diabetic retinopathy
- Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients and provide education on preventative eye care
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities in patient assessment and care
- Commitment to professional development and staying up-to-date with advancements in optometry
- Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited optometry program
- Active optometrist license to practice in Virginia or eligibility to obtain licensure
- Experience with electronic health record systems is a plus
