BRIEF DESCRIPTION:
This is a non-supervisory position in a non-sworn capacity. Personnel assigned will take responsibility that all property and evidence submitted to or stored in the Johnson County Sheriff's Office is handled and documented properly.

NECESSARY KNOWLEDGE. SKILLS. AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge in Photography, Criminalistics, and Physical Science (Biology/Biochemistry, Chemistry, or Forensic Science) is highly desirable. Applicant should have strong organizational skills.
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's Degree in Criminalistics or related field with directly related experience in warehouse or inventory control, preferably in a police setting would be desirable;
CERTIFICATEDS AND LICENSES REQUIRES:
Applicants must complete a personal history packet
If required applicant must pass the following selections criteria: background investigation; oral interview; medical physical; psychological exam; and drug and alcohol testing
A valid Class C Texas motor vehicle driver's license and the ability to maintain a satisfactory driving record ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS AND SAFETY HAZARDS:
Primarily indoor office environment with the ability to operate outdoors when needed. May be exposed to extreme heat and cold during summer and winter months
TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED:
Must be able to understand and read measuring devices. Must have the ability to learn laboratory equipment used in processing evidence and crime scenes. Must be able to use basic hand tools such as hammers, screwdrivers, pliers, etc.
