Johnson College is currently seeking a part-time Refrigeration Instructor for an evening course for the upcoming spring 2026 semester. The Refrigeration Instructor is responsible for providing high-quality instruction in the principles and practices of refrigeration systems. The instructor should have expertise with installing, repairing and maintaining both residential and light commercial refrigeration applications.
Essential Job Functions
EPA 608 Type 1 & 2
Education
Associate Degree in the subject or related subject taught
Experience
Technical - Minimum of 4 years' experience in the area taught.
Skills
Individuals must have strong communication skills, ability to teach, expertise in their program area, good managerial skills, knowledge of industry standards, assessment skills, organizational and word-processing skills.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Enforce college policies and procedures with all students and within their course of study.
Equipment To Be Used
Equipment used in program of study, computers and associate software.

Essential Job Functions
- Deliver engaging classroom and lab instruction on refrigeration fundamentals, safety, system design, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Teach the application of refrigeration cycles, system components, refrigerant handling, recovery procedures, and EPA compliance.
- Provide hands-on training with refrigeration equipment, tools, and instruments in a safe, structured environment.
- Work with Academics to develop scheduling and transferability of coursework
- Provide student advisement and assistance when necessary.
- Ensure all instruction complies with safety protocols, OSHA requirements, and EPA regulations.
- Promote the program and assist with the procurement of educational resources and equipment
- Participation in professional organizations
- Participation in College activities and events.
