Job Description:
The VP, CEO - JCMC will work within the context of Ballad Health System's overall strategic direction. The VP will direct, administer, and coordinate all activities of the hospital to execute its objectives in the provision of health care to its community. This position oversees operations, the application and implementation of established policies, governing authority liaisons, the medical staff and departments, and the control and effective utilization of physical and financial resources.
The VP will create and direct the implementation of operating plans, hospital short and long-range objectives and hospital-specific policies and budgets. This individual will actively participate at system executive level meetings and collaborate on the development of strategic plans for the health system, as well as for the hospital. The VP will serve as the principal strategic and operational leader for the hospital. Additionally, the VP will champion the focus on patient quality and service while improving operational efficiency. This individual will develop, nurture, and manage physician relations within a team atmosphere collaborating with employed and independent medical staff on strategic service opportunities and revenue generation to sustain ongoing growth. This leader will demonstrate a keen awareness of the changing healthcare environment and actively positions the hospital for sustained financial success through the creation of innovative solutions and strategies. This leader will promote growth and further development of foundation/philanthropic efforts through active engagement with hospital community leaders and potential donors. The VP will represent the hospital in the community and continually strives to raise the hospital's visibility and reputation within the population it serves.
Requirements:
Master's degree in healthcare administration, Business, Nursing, Public Health, Medicine, or similar area required. Minimum ten years' experience in healthcare leadership with progressively increased responsibility in senior-level positions. Prior experience working effectively with not-for-profit hospital board leadership. Demonstrated skills as an innovative and persuasive thought-leader. Proven ability to lead effectively through adversity; able to execute courageous, difficult decisions when necessary.
