GENERAL STATEMENT OF JOB






Under the supervision of the Director of Athletics, the Head Women and Men’s Tennis Coach will support the Director of Athletics and the Tennis Program by organizing, coordinating, and promoting a comprehensive program of tennis instruction that is designed to meet the needs and interest of the school community, NCAA, and the CIAA. This position will also maintain a good working relationship with alumni relations. This position reports to the Director of Athletics.










SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES






ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS


The Head Women and Men’s Tennis Coach will manage and supervise the tennis program. 


 Recruits and maintains specific roster sizes for the tennis program.


 Monitors, assists, and nurtures student-athletes’ academic progress toward graduation at the college and  


 assists with placement at four-year colleges and universities.


The individual will be responsible for assigning duties and responsibilities to assistant coaches. In addition, responsibilities include and are not limited to:


Coordinating the issuance, care and inventory of equipment, supplies, and uniforms. Purchasing equipment, supplies and uniforms.


Developing the annual budget. Schedule matches and officials.


Supervise athletes at all times from the time practice or activity starts until it is over. Coordinate the security of all facilities used by the team and coaching staff.


Submit certified rosters, award forms, season records, inventory forms, transportations requests, travel authorization requests, travel expense reports, requisitions and other forms required by the Athletic director.


Ensure the proper completions of physical examinations forms relating to the examinations and to coordinate injuries with the training staff.


Coordinate the distribution, collection, storage of athletic uniforms. 


Conduct and handle recruitment of athletes.


Be responsible for awards presentations at awards programs.


Prepares game contracts for tennis, ensures accuracy of information, and routes for appropriate signatures.


Prepares check requests for game guarantees, team travel, reimbursements and payments, and routes for appropriate signatures.


Prepares purchase requisitions and procurement card purchase requests; purchases supply and equipment; processes invoices and routes for appropriate approval and signatures.


Reconciles monthly tennis expenses and travel.


Process official and unofficial visit reports and team post-trip summaries.


Prepares and processes travel requests for Men’s and Women’s Tennis teams; reserves transportation, rental cars; and prepares and processes travel reimbursement paperwork team travel and events.


Provides event support for tennis team, including pre-event logistics and set-up, event support, and post- event clean up and evaluation. Engages with donors, alumni and public at events. Assists with external communication, including mailings, electronic communication and phone campaigns.


Position requires frequent contact with staff, faculty, and students at all levels of the University. Supervise assistant coaches, and work study students.






ADDITIONAL JOB FUNCTIONS


Performs related duties as required.










MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE






Requires a Bachelor’s degree in sports, or a related field. Must demonstrate, intermediate to advanced skills with Microsoft Office, Teams, Excel, and word. Excellent oral and written communication skills are also required. The ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with faculty, staff, and students from diverse backgrounds is an essential skill. Must be able to prioritize work to meet multiple deadlines with minimal supervision. Familiarity with NCAA Compliance Assistant, Front Rush, or related system is preferred.










Additional Desirable Qualifications



  • Master’s Degree

  • Three years’ experience working with college age athletes.

  • Three years’ experience NCAA and CIAA policies.

  • Three years’ experience in recruiting collegiate athletes at the NCAA level.

  • Demonstrated ability to recruit student-athletes with potential for academic and athletic success.

Salary : $10,000 - $15,000
