Job Description

Johnson & Associates is a local CPA firm looking for a detail oriented individual to fill a seasonal tax preparer position for the upcomming Tax Season (January - April). We are providing valuable tax experience and competitive compensation for candidates with a willingness to learn and grow! This position is available on an annual basis.
A seasonal tax preparer/data entry specialist is responsible for the preparation and review of tax returns for individuals and businesses, which involves verifying input information and data entry, utilizing tax instructions, and maintaining the confidentiality of information.
Responsibilities
- Prepares, or assists in preparing, tax returns for individuals and businesses.
- Checks data input and verifies totals on forms to detect errors in arithmetic, data entry, or other general procedures on pertinent business software.
- Consults tax law handbooks, IRS instructions and schedules, and other relevant sources of information to correctly prepare returns.
- Ensures the confidentiality of client information.
Qualifications
- Any experience in tax preparation, accounting, or Lacerte tax preparation software is preferred, but not required
- Excellent reading, writing, verbal, and mathematical abilities
- Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of client records
- Ability to work efficiently and problem solve
- Attention to detail is a must

- Monday through Friday
- 9:00am to 5:00pm
- May include evenings and Saturdays given special circumstances

Reporting Structure:
- Reports directly to the managing CPA
