QUALIFICATIONS:������
- Bachelor's Degree/Associate's Degree in Nursing
- Current Registered Nurse Licensure in the State of Illinois
- First aid and CPR/AED program completion
- Experience in school nursing preferred but not required
- Respect confidentiality
- Must be able to use tact and diplomacy in human relations�
- Responsible for providing direct nursing to students and staff members to maximize health and wellness in the school community.
- All duties are performed in accordance with district/state Board of Education policies and procedures and state law regarding nursing practices.
- Strong organization skills.
- Working knowledge of computer, network and software applications utilized within the school district.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with others.
- Maintain health records for each pupil.
- Participate in efforts to control communicable disease.
- Promote compliance with the laws of the State of Illinois that pertain to physical examinations, immunizations, and other health matters.
- Make referrals for students who have failed vision and/or hearing screening and to follow-up with parents who need assistance.
- Familiarity with emergency situations as follows: fire drills, tornado drills, code yellows, code reds, etc.
- Protects the confidentiality of district and student records and information.
- Promotes a positive relationship with students, staff and community.
- Adhere to the district's expectations with regards to attendance and punctuality.
