The Assistant Coach will be responsible for helping build and maintaining the girls' softball program which will include, but is not limited to:

Qualifications
- All coaches in an IHSA sport must hold an Illinois Teaching Certificate/Substitute Certificate, ASEP certificate (American Sport Education Program) or have completed an approved national Federation of High Schools (NFHS) coaching certification program. Coaches must maintain current AED/CPR certification and meet all IHSA coaching certification annual requirements.
- Previous coaching experience
- Excellent organizational and communication skills

Job Summary
The Assistant Coach will be responsible for helping build and maintaining the girls' softball program which will include, but is not limited to:
- Assisting with maintaining levels of competition
- Summer camps for current and prospective players
- Along with the head coach, monitoring all athletes academic progress
- Assessing player's skills and assigning positions on the team
- Under direction of the head coach, helping organize practice schedule
- Under direction of the head coach, helping organize individual practices to provide individual and team development
- Following team rules and goals that are shared with players and parents
- Following established procedures in the event of an injury to an athlete
- Ensuring all athletes are supervised at all times when involved with team activities
- Acting as a positive role model and maintains proper sportsmanship on the team at all times
- Helping maintain an inventory of all equipment
- Attending professional development clinics/conferences specific to girls softball
