The Sterile Processing Tech inspects, cleans, assembles and sterilizes surgical instrument sets. Operates cleaning and sterilization equipment in order to clean instruments and supplies. Prepare supplies and equipment for steam sterilization and low temperature sterilization.
Minimum requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
- CBSPD (Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution) or Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) or IAHCSMM (International Association of Healthcare Central Service Materials Management) certification
- Minimum two years instrument processing experience required at a proficient level in all areas to include sterilization and set assembly
