Requirements
- Managing preventive maintenance (PM) contracts and schedules for Sterile Processing (SP) equipment to meet organizational needs.
- Providing education and training for SP staff on case picking and related processes.
- Coordinating transportation of borrowed instruments and equipment across multiple Johns Hopkins Medicine (JHM) entities and clinics, ensuring effective communication among all parties.
- Supervising staff and leading recruitment, retention, and development initiatives for Certified Sterile Processing (CSP) professionals.
- Creating and maintaining development pathways for SP students.
- Collaborating with JHHS oversight entities and department educators to design and implement training programs based on needs assessments, regulatory requirements, and organizational goals.
- Developing tools to monitor and report departmental quality and productivity.
- Ensuring compliance with AAMI, AORN, The Joint Commission, and other regulatory standards.
- Participating in regulatory and accreditation surveys.
- Requires a minimum of (5) years of professional experience in sterile processing with an Associate's degree.
- Minimum of 9 years of professional experience in sterile processing without a college degree.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- A minimum of 3 years’ supervisory experience.
- Must have three current certifications:
- Certified Registered Central Service Technician, CRCST or Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD)
- CER (Certified Endoscopic Reprocessor) or CFER (Certified Flexible Endoscope Reprocessor)
- Certified Healthcare Leader (CHL) or Certified Sterile Processing Management (CSPM)
