Work Hours: Full Time/Evening Shift, Monday-Friday 4:00pm-12:30am, weekend rotations with 2nd shift hours 2pm-10:30pm.
Work Location: Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital, St. Petersburg, FL- Core Lab
Position Summary:
- The laboratory lead medical technologist performs analytical procedures independently and has an advanced understanding of laboratory operations.
- Accountable for day-to-day assistance in planning, participating, and overseeing all operations of assigned section(s).
- Is cross-trained in all functions of the section and provides recommendations to leadership about opportunities for improvement.
- Possesses high attention to detail and can be relied upon for dependable and consistent work output.
- Ensures the reporting of quality results, completion of projects and a safe work environment.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology or related science
Experience:
- 5 years of related clinical laboratory experience
- Proven ability to perform and evaluate laboratory procedures, guide QC, improve section performance and lead staff in daily operations in the assigned areas
- Precision and attention to detail
- Strong written communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to read and interpret direction, both oral and written, organize and prioritize work and follow through on assignments
- Knowledge of and ability to use computers, automated instruments and mechanical apparatus
Certification/Licensing:
- Clinical Laboratory Technologist License in the area(s) of responsibility from the State of Florida required
- Clinical Laboratory Supervisor License in the area(s) of responsibility from the State of Florida preferred

Salary Range: Minimum 33.70/hour - Maximum 53.93/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
